On 5th September, Dr. 5th, Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the college as Teachers’ Day. Under the guidance of College Principal Dr. Kiran Rakibe and Mr. D. S. Antapurkar Head, Dept. of. Botany with the initiative of the students, a report on the diverse activities organized for Teachers’ Day.On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the college students took the initiative to assume teaching and other roles. In his presidential address, Dr. Kiran Rakibe, the program’s chairman, extended Teachers’ Day greetings to everyone and lauded the students’ initiative in celebrating Teachers’ Day. He astutely unraveled the interrelationship between teachers and students from both perspectives: that of a student in a teacher’s role, and a teacher in a student’s role.He also stated that a successful student is the true earning of a teacher’s life, and that is what brings them pride. Accomplished students are a teacher’s identity, and the respect students hold for their teachers serves as an inspiration to them. Teaching is an art achieved through great effort, and teachers with excellent teaching skills earn the love of students.Principal Dr. Kiran Rakibe assured everyone in his address that students represent the college in society. Therefore, he affirmed, “We are all always committed to nurturing good students.” |

National Science Day celebrated with great enthusiasm and academic fervor on 28th February 2025 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by Nobel Laureate Dr. C. V. Raman.The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Principal Dr. Kiran Rakibe, who emphasized the importance of scientific temperament in everyday life and encouraged students to pursue innovation and research. In his address, he highlighted the theme of the year “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat” aligning with the national vision of self-reliance through science and innovation.The celebration featured a variety of activities such as:· Science Exhibition by undergraduate and junior college students, showcasing working models, posters, and experiments.· Quiz Competition and Science Elocution, where students from all streams participated enthusiastically.The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and vote of thanks. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, Karmaveer Punjababa Govardhane Arts, Commerce & Science College, Igatpuri organized a unique and meaningful celebration under the title ‘वृक्ष माझा भाऊराया on August 19, 2024. The program was a heartfelt initiative to promote environmental awareness and sustainable traditions, combining the spirit of the festival with eco-consciousness. Under the guidance of Principal Dr. Kiran Rakibe, the event was successfully organized by the Department of Botany. HoD, faculty members & Students tied handmade rakhees to trees, symbolizing a bond of love and protection not just between siblings, but also between humans and nature. In her address, Miss Rajeshwari Jadhav, Assistant Professor, explained the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and encouraged everyone to treat nature as family. The event saw enthusiastic participation from students who also pledged to plant and protect more trees, treating them as their ‘green brothers.’ Through this initiative, the college beautifully conveyed the message of eco-friendly celebration and environmental responsibility, making the festival truly memorable and meaningful. Antapurkar, Head of the Botany Department, guided the students and guests on the scientific method of seed planting. Under the guidance of our visionary Principal, Dr. Kiran Rakibe, the college community came together to collect and distribute food grains to tribal students residing in hostels across Igatpuri and Trimbakeshwar areas.Collection and DistributionThe program resulted in the collection of approximately 100 quintals of food grains, which were then distributed among the tribal student’s hostels. The initiative aimed to educate local farmers about the benefits of organic farming and provide them with practical skills to enhance their crop yields while minimizing environmental impact.A team of experts from the college visited Take-Ghoti village to conduct a thorough survey of the farm lands. The survey assessed soil quality, water availability, and existing farming practices, providing valuable insights into the challenges faced by local farmers.Following the survey, an awareness program on organic farming was organized for the farmers. The program highlighted the importance of sustainable agricultural practices, the benefits of organic farming, and the potential risks associated with chemical-based farming methods.As part of the program, a hands-on demonstration was conducted on how to make organic fertilizers using locally available materials.
