Scientific Survey on Crop plant disease

Goal:

  • To know the awareness of farmers about organic farming and sustainable agriculture.
  • To suggest policy measures to enhance the rapid adoption of organic farming system to the farmer.
  • The goal of raising farmers’ knowledge about chemical farming is to lessen the negative impacts that pesticides have on the environment and human health.

Context:

   The survey was part of structures field visit program Crop disease pose significance challenges to agriculture, affecting yield and quality. The survey aims to provide insights into disease dynamics in local farming.

The Practice:

  • The cow dung and urine mixture prepared by using 1kg dung, 1 liter urine, 200 g jaggery, 200g flour and 100 g soil from the same field. Mix all these in a big tank properly.
  • The final volumes of the mixtures were made to 20 liters with water in plastic containers.
  • Keep the tank in shade and cover it with jute bag.
  • The mixtures were kept for incubation under shade for 5 days.
  • Stirred vigorously for 10-15 minutes three times a day with a wooden stick.
  • It gets fermented. After 48 hours Sanjivani Amrutis ready to use. It can be used for 2-3 days.
  • Sanjivani Amrut is moderate green in colour with mild foul odour and with progression in storage period it attains darker in colour with strong foul odour. It is the best medium to increase the count of microorganisms.

 

Evidence of Success:

This practice developed awareness about the organic farming which is sustainable to agriculture.

The demo often including testimonials from farmers who have successfully implemented Sanjivani Amrut in their fields.

These success stories serve as motivation for other farmers to adopt similar practices.

Scientific survey skill of final year students of botany was improved.
